The 1000th SPECTROMAXx metal analyser sold by Spectro has been delivered to AWG of Giengen, Germany. A supplier of mobile and stationary fire protection equipment, AWG requires a metal analyser in its foundry for alloy control prior to casting.
The SPECTROMAXx was launched two years ago. According to Spectro, which is based in Kleve, Germany, the SPECTROMAXx’s SPECTRO Plasma Generator sample excitation system provides more accurate and stable results than a conventional excitation source.

Atlantic Scrap & Processing of Kernersville, North Carolina, USA, has purchased a 98115 shredder system from Harris Waste Management Group Inc. of Peachtree City, Georgia, USA. The system features: a 6000 HP Toshiba drive motor; a complete infeed system with Harris’ heavy-duty, double-feed roll system; and a low-maintenance disc rotor and dry downstream ferrous material separation system. To be installed at Atlantic Scrap’s Wilmington facility in North Carolina, the plant is expected to process more than 200 tonnes an hour when fully operational.
