How does glass recycling conserve energy?
If the process of obtaining raw materials and merging those materials is eliminated, then the only other difference in energy use is the remelting of glass, which will be significantly less. Otherwise, the formulation energy will be the same, though transport of raw materials will also differ. Additionally, one can subtract most energy use from reuse of glass.
