Dear Lynnette,

There are many resources concerning packaging and reducing it. The Institute for Local Self-reliance of New York, The U.S. Conference of Mayors, in the U.S. EPA each have put out manuals about this between 1992 and present. Probably the most well-known effort was the green dot system of packaging take back put into place in Germany approximately seven years ago. I believe that the graphics group, the New York City Materials for the Arts organization put out something on this subject. So if you go searching on such terms as waste reduction or source reduction with packaging,you should not have much trouble in finding resources.
