I was very impressed with all the recycling efforts being done in your country. We live in a third world Asian country and have a huge garbage problem. We still use landfills but are at an impass where every town refuses to be the dumping ground for garbage (understandably so) and the government just passed a clean air act which prohibits burning of garbage. Garbage is now not even being collected because there is no place to put it. Plastic bags of garbage are strewn along the sidewalks, into our rivers and just left anywhere. I am so concerned.
I feel there is a need to 1) educate the people on how to recycle (which is about 70% of our population); 2) take an active role in implementing fines; 3) build recycling plants which will benefit people through employment and health.
Studies have been made and so have business plans but that's as far as it's gone. No implementation...no solution... no money from the government. Can you point me to the right direction as to who can I contact who may be interested in coming into our country to put up a recycling plant (starting here in the capital)and I can get the co-financing from corporations who are just eager to get things started.
Thank you for your time and I am eager to contact them and maybe get something going here.
Sincerely,
C. Ferreira
