Dear Robert,
The group that you want to connect with is TAPPI, which stands for something like the Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry ; they run annual and ongoing conferences all about paper production. MIT has an entire section devoted to their conference proceedings and it is there that I have seen articles on synthetic fibers in some furnishes for paper. This is not of interest to recyclers. However, this is where you ought to head. The Encyclopedia of Associations will also list and describe many of their committees and specialty groups.
