Subject: Re: Injection molding with crumb rubber and plastic (Mike)

August 5, 1997

Dear Mike,

AAA Barricades, Denver, CO is making a product from crumb rubber and plastics, but I don't know if it is injection molded.

Plasticycle, Inc, Calgary, Alberta has a product made of 3 parts crumb rubber and 1 part plastic wastes to make forms of plastic lumber but this is through an extrusion process.

Check an article in Canadian Chemical News, April, 1994, p. 24 called From window scrapers to patio stones, old tires continue to roll along for a series of processers that definitely involve extrusion , but may also involve injection.

And then there is GreenMan Technologies, Inc of Boston, MA which together with Plastic Solutions of Texas, Inc. signed ana greement in late 1996 to make a crumb rubber-plastic blend for various high end products such as thermoplastics. The technology, I am not sure of.
