Polystyrene is easily recyclable. This is according to one company that recycles it:

National Polystyrene Recycling Co, 25 Tri-State International, Lincolnshire, IL 60069.

This firm puts out a brochure How to recycle polystyrene .

There is also a trade association: Polystyrene Packaging Council, Inc., 1025 Connecticut Avenue, NW, Suite 508. Washington, DC 20036.
