Dear Karen-lee Tahabalala,

Textbooks could certainly be made from recycled materials, particularly from coated paper such as magazine stock is made from and covers from recycled paperboard, cardboard and textiles.

The question is, do you want to recycle the paper as well as manufacture the books, or just manufacture the books? If you want a list of recycled paper suppliers in New England, I can help, but if you want to get your recycled paper from a place closer to your home (as you ought to) please identify where that is, and we will try to help. Recycling technologies are pretty well described for paper in the many textbooks on paper recycling that exist. If you need a list of some of them, write to us at FRIEDMAN.FRED@EPAMAIL.EPA.GOV
