There are recyclers and composters serving the Michigan area who will write contracts with commercial firms. Not being in Michigan, but serving another region, I can just give you instances of this already happening in Michigan, and to point you in the direction of your State Recycling Office and of the EPA Region serving Michigan, which also has a solid waste/recycling program:
