Home smelting of aluminum?????

Please check with your local environmental authority before attempting this. The chances of your running afoul of environmental laws and regulations (wherever you are) before you have smelted your first bauxite are rather large. This is a worrisome project, even if I know none of the details. Smelting is a very polluting activity. Emission and effluent controls are as necessary as the furnace (which I'm certain you can find some malfactor to sell you somewhere on the internet). Check into what you are letting yourself in for (not to mention your immediate surroundings: have you, by chance, informed the neighbors???).
