Dear Ross,

The available recycled construction materials and sources of them and a huge quantity. First some sources:

For a database of available construction materials with recycled content: The Sourcebook for Sustainable Design: A Guide to Environmentally Responsible Building Materials and Processes by Andrew St. John, Boston Society of Architects.
For a second by US Dept. of Commerce, NIST, BEES 1.0: Building for Environmental and Economic Sustainability Technical Manual and User Guide by Barbara Lippiatt. NIST document # NISTIR 6144. Obtain from: Nist, Building 226, Room B226, Gaithersburg, MD 20878.

For case studies of building with green builder programs including using recycled materials::
Austin, TX, Green Builder Program, contact 512-499-7827 or http://www.ci.austin.tx.us/greenbuilder

Los Angeles Citywide Sustainable Design Taskforce, contact William Holland, City Architect, Chairman of the Task Force, 213-847-6370.

For a wealth of info on recycling, recycled materials, sustainable approaches to building, etc. see Environmental Building News, 802-257-7300.

For a great resource guide on all aspects of the green construction industry including recycled raw/building materials, see:
