The only uses that I have heard common rocks have been put towards are:

- dumped into ponds or lakes which for some reason needed their water table to rise.
- after some processing (into some optimal shape) being deposited at eroded coastlines to gather sand brought in by the surf.
- after a good deal of processing, appropriate rocks are used as building materials for stone walls and foundations.
