Dear Michael,

Computer recyclers will sometimes share revenue from their use of your old computers in new products recycling and sometimes not do so. Reuse organizations may do the same. Some New York area recyclers are:

Alco Refiners, Wheatley Heights, NY 516-491-3041
Inwrap materials exchange Program, Long Island City, NY 718-786-5300
Reused goods, Freeport, 516-223-2522

I suspect that of these, only the 1st one is truly a recycler. I would check with the NY Dept. of Environmental Conservation or EPA Region 2 (212-637-4100) for a more in-depth knowledge of local recyclers.
