County of Northumberland (Recycling Centre)
Northumberland County operates a Two-Stream Wet/Dry Waste Program providing weekly wet waste and dry recyclables curbside collection. 70% of dry materials entering the Material Recovery Facility is recycled. Wet waste collection, utilizing a Bag Tag System, is landfilled. Diversion of an additional 35% wet waste from landfills is currently being investigated.
